We begin with assessment and then use the organizer to differentiate instruction. You will learn how the organizer increased comprehension in our classrooms and elementary school. We have developed a program called The W.R.I.T.E. Strategies. The W.R.I.T.E. Strategies focus on writing, reading, inquiring, thinking, and engaging students in their learning processes. The workshops are designed to empower teachers with research-proven strategies they can incorporate in their classroom instruction.

According to Marzano (2006), teaching academic vocabulary using a specific six-step research based process can enhance students’ abilities to read and understand subject-area content. In the end, it can help students build background knowledge that enhances their academic achievement. In this workshop participants will learn the six steps to teaching academic vocabulary.

This interactive session is designed to provide practical ideas on how to engage all learners in your classroom. The presenters will share how they effectively use active learning to connect content curriculum with their students. Participants will learn how to build excitement into their curriculum; and get students thinking and moving. Alert: This session is 80% interactive and 20% lecture, be prepared to have some fun!
